I should like to write about what happens when fictive people encounter and are embellished by real people.

About This Quote

This quote is taken from a piece by Mark Strand, which I translated. This is not to be confused with the essay, “On the Ethics of Fiction,” written by Jean-Paul Sartre in 1946. In his essay, Sartre talks about the role of fiction in human life. He goes on to say that fiction can be a helpful tool when it comes to reflecting on the world around us.
